Suspension of New Patient Registrations
Montgomery House Surgery, with the support of Oxfordshire CCG, has suspended the registration of new patients with effect from 8 April 2019.
The Practice will continue to register children as part of the direct family of those already registered with us, and to register temporary patients in line with the current working agreement between the 3 Bicester practices, i.e. those visiting a patient already registered at the Practice or those patients visiting the area with no connection where each practice takes it in turn on a monthly basis to register take temporary patients.
Those current patients with additional children to register need to obtain a Registration Form from our Patient Services.
This suspension will be reviewed in August 2019.
In the meantime new patients will need to register with either Alchester Medical Group (Langford Surgery/ Victoria House Surgery), or Bicester Health Centre.

We have proved to be very popular for new patients moving into the new estates in Bicester, as a result we have been growing by 1100 patients per year. We have worked hard to recruit GPs and allied health care professionals to keep ahead of this growth but recent maternity leave of two of our GPs, sickness, and a difficulty in finding appropriate locum GP cover at the present time has meant that it has become very difficult to maintain our usual access to appointments. This, alongside physical space constraints of the building has meant that we have to focus on continuing to provide the best possible care to our current patients as our priority rather than expanding past our current capacity at the current time. We continue to advertise for locum GPs, permanent GPs and a paramedic, and are very hopeful we will be successful in the near future.
All of our clinicians and support staff continue to work exceptionally hard to ensure we continue to provide the best care possible to all of our patients.
We hope that we will soon be able to open our list again in the near future with our programme of recruitment of additional clinical staff and the changes we have recently made to the building to house them.
As Bicester looks to develop its healthcare provision over the coming few years and the expansion of health care facilities, the 3 Bicester practices are aware of the limitation on space that all practice currently have to expand and the availability of GPs that are available to be recruited. We will all continue to work together to ensure that capacity remains available within the 3 practices to enable new residents to register with a practice until additional facilities are developed in the near future.
