Montgomery-House Surgery is a healthcare building where we must protect both our staff – who are essential to maintaining our service – and the vulnerable patients who need to access the building.
We’ve therefore taken the decision not to allow entry to the surgery to anyone until the full 10 days have passed from either the onset of their Covid-19 symptoms or a positive Covid test.
You can calculate when the 10 days are up by starting from whichever happened first – that’s either the day that you first got symptoms or, if you were symptom free, from the day that your Covid test was positive.
Whilst the national guidance around Covid-19 infection allows release from self-isolation after 5 full days from onset of symptoms, or a positive PCR or LFT result, with two consecutive negative lateral flow tests, it also confirms that you should take steps to reduce your contact with others. In particular you should limit contact with people at higher risk of serious illness which will often include vulnerable patients in our surgery building.
We’re still able to offer telephone appointments to any patients who’re unable to enter the surgery because of this and you should therefore call our patient services team if you find yourself in these circumstances.
Our Patient Services number is 01869 249222.
Thank you for helping us to help you.
