The 3 Bicester Practices are working together to be able to deliver the COVID-19 Vaccinations.
The NHS is now ready to deliver a vaccination programme for England so that those who need it most will be able to access vaccinations as soon as they are available.
A prioritisation list has been produced in order for the vaccine to be delivered to groups who will need it first. The NHS will contact you when you are eligible to receive the vaccine and provide you with information about location and date. We will contact you when it’s the right time to come forward, so please don’t contact the practice to seek a vaccine or for further information before then.
Currently we have not been given a date when we will begin giving the vaccinations in Bicester.
The national news that all practices are starting to provide vaccinations from the 14 December is incorrect. This is limited to a sites around the country to test the logistics of distributing the vaccines, and in areas that may have higher inequalities and deprivation etc – Bicester is not one of these Wave 1 sites.
As the vaccinations all require 2 doses, then it is expected that patients will book both appointments when contacting the practice – these would be booked to be 3 weeks apart (same day of the week and same time). Patients need to have both doses to be vaccinated. This will be confirmed in due course.
Thank you
