COVID-19 – Update 18 Mar 20 – Urgent & Medical Essential Appointments Only from Thursday 19 March 2020

For the protection of patients and because of reduced staff availability with the COVID-19 outbreak we are having to restrict further the patients we can treat to Medically URGENT and Medically ESSENTIAL ONLY

ONLY ATTEND THE PRACTICE IF YOU ASKED TO DO SO OR COLLECTING YOUR MEDICATION FROM OUR DISPENSARY.  

DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE IF YOU CAN’T GET THROUGH ON THE PHONES. 

DO NOT COME TO THE PRACTICE TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT – WE WILL NOT PROVIDE WALK-IN APPOINTMENTS

GP APPOINTMENTS

On the Day Booked Telephone Appointments ONLY (unless stated otherwise)

Patients to use our Website eConsult for to submit details of Urgent/Minor illness where ever possible.  This will help us both prioritise cases and treat cases much quicker.

MEDICALLY URGENT – you will be triaged in medical priority and the Clinician will call you.  ONLY if appropriate will you be asked to attend the Practice later that day.

MEDICALLY ESSENTIAL – If you have a condition that is medically essential, then this will be placed on a second triage list and ONLY if we have capacity will we call you.  Those not called back on the day, may be transferred the following day.

There may be some delay in us calling you back, so please don’t call us chasing.

The following GP face to face appointments may be booked in Advance, BUT, the Practice will have to call or text you BEFORE you attend, to check for any COVID-19 Symptoms and only if practice has capacity to see you.

  • Routine Maternity Checks & Immunisations
  • Medicals (Fostering, HGV etc essential for ongoing employment)

NURSE & HCA APPOINTMENTS

These are restricted to MEDICALLY ESSENTIAL appointments only, such as dressings, scheduled immunisations, B12 injections, Bloods.

Contraception (Pill) Check – Use our website form

If capacity allows our Nurses may call opportunistically to complete annual reviews such as Asthma, Diabetes, etc.  Please do not call us will these

BLOOD SAMPLES

Where you require a blood test, you will either need to attend the same day as requested by the GP, or call us to make a SAME DAY Appointment.

WE WILL NOT ACCEPT WALK-IN REQUESTS

MIDWIVES

These can continue to be booked in advance.

The Midwife will need to call you BEFORE you attend the practice to check for COVID-19 symptoms.

For Bicester patients that do not have a designated Community Pharmacy to where their prescription is sent WILL BE required to do so instead of collecting it from the Practice
